Yes, vMeasure can work on uneven surfaces, including roller-top stations and other non-flat support surfaces. However, the measurement range and accuracy can change depending on the surface geometry.
Roller surfaces (common case)
- vMeasure can dimension items on roller tops, but roller diameter and gap distance between rollers affect the dimensioning specs for your setup.
What typically makes uneven surfaces harder?
- Larger gaps or deep grooves under the item
- Small or flexible items that “sag” into gaps
- Items with minimal base contact (easy to tilt or rock)
Fast way to make it reliable
- Use a flat matte top sheet / board over the rollers for scan points that need consistent specs
- Keep the item stable (no rocking) during capture
For roller-top or mechanical roller setups, share roller diameter + center-to-center spacing (or gap) and a few example SKUs, and we’ll confirm the dimensioning specs specific to your hardware.
